law of attraction.

I love how just a few years ago my good friend and brother swore they'd found the loophole- that which, of course, every other person who cared to spend the asking price was enlightened on as well. The Secret, which explains in detail the power of the laws of attraction. I am not a skeptic; nor am i a believer. I just know enough to know this: my secret is simple. work until you make it and keep working afterwards. and if, by chance, good things happen along the way take them as they come, but keep working. idle hands are in fact the devil's play things. But hey! it aint for everybody.

anywho, if you've been practicing the secret &it hasn't worked for you by now check out this blogger site. she gives the secret to the secret.

SO I GUESS IM ACTUALLY GIVING THE SECRET TO THE SECRET TO THE SECRET- TWICE REMOVED FROM THE SOURCE MAKES 3... WHICH IS A CHARM. TAKE HEED, PERHAPS? lol.

cease opportunity.

"Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?"

God, from Evan Almighty

i sincerely believe few good things come on silver platters in life. But opportunity is endless. cease opportunity.

genius isnt always original.

cruisin' youtube helped me come up with a good point. Sometimes the credit lies in the innovation not the idea. Check out the vid! &this isnt even the best of EclecticAsylumArt on youtube. you'll really be watching all night

become spiritual.

"the mind can be a man's worst enemy or his best friend"

I enjoyed being a part of the campus-wide prayer tonight at TSU. It was definitely something serious! I love seeing people's guards being let down...

I've been around the world &back inside my head lately. Hell, I think I even left this world a few times. But i was able to center my thoughts tonight and detox my mind. feeling good. feeling great. Thank You, Jesus.

Become spiritual. Even if you're not a religious person, so to speak. BECOME A SPIRITUAL BEING! center your self with prayer. Center your mind, body and spirit. It makes for a more bountiful day and a peaceful night.

iAre.

A person who is both accepted and understood by the world probably is a genius- as is a person who is neither.

ordinary geniuses.

Aww man! Somebody get me some chalk...

why worry.

Tonight I wanted to inspire some positive energy. I decided I wanted to post something to put a smile on your face and a good thought in your mind either before you slept or continued your day [wherever you are at this point]. So to find something suitable I - of course- went to the most reliable, immediate source I knew of- Google. &So I typed in [verbatim] biggest miracle in history. Not knowing what responses would be returned, I figured that- if nothing else- whatever it is it should spark some hope in even the most broken spirits.

Well thank God my laptop is a PC [plug for apples] because during my slow wait I answered my own question. [thinking] I'm a well-read person. &I try to stay current, too. So what- of everything throughout time- has been/is the most illogical of all miracles? Duh!! The birth of Jesus from the virgin Mary.

I almost felt stupid for having to get all the way to Google to jog my memory. Needless to say I didn't even bother to see what results would appear. I mean, thats pretty much it. Theres the inspiration and the positive energy you need. Jesus was born...

have a good day.

After re-reading this post i'm like DUHH! dont forget the only other equally-as-illogical miracle in history- the death &rise of Jesus.

ok.
have a good day.

iAre.

I'd argue that artists are the most unselfish beings walking the earth. They give even when rejected and accept that they wont be fully appreciated 'til they're dead.

pray.

because my mom thinks its important enough to leave by the toilet; and i think its important enough to blog

The Prayer Of Jabez
Bruce Wilkinson

i pray this prayer almost daily:

God,

  • Bless me.
  • Enlarge my territory.
  • Be with me.
  • Protect me from evil.

scrabble.

Winning at Scrabble:

There are three very important points to consider when you play.
1. The 7 letters you have to play with. (consider what you already have)
2. How to place your word or add to an existing word to obtain the highest score. (consider how to use what you already have to its most desired potential)
3. Don’t leave openings on the board for other players to score highly. (remain one step ahead of those opposing you)

  • ALWAYS CONSIDER YOUR SCORE..

  • LEARN AS BEST AS POSSIBLE...

  • PLAN AHEAD...

  • DON'T FEAR...

  • ENJOY THE GAME...

seriously, these were the tips given [explained in greater depth to seem more relevant to the game, of course].

support your support.

A lot of times im so desperate for support i lose sight of giving it back to others- especially my friends. These are the very beings i want there to listen when i've done something even i cant believe. The very beings i want to hear a good word from after i've made bad decision, or even before when i know im about to make one. The very beings i promise to take care of when I_FINALLY_GET_THERE. But who is it that grooms me along the way? Who is that says i can even when i don't? Who is it that strokes my ego even when its gotten so big its undeserving of such? My friends are those very beings. I say "beings" because they're existing-just as i am. They, too, are walking blindsided hoping they've made the right decision, and regretting the wrong ones they're aware of. they too need support. Dreams are nothing without people to share them with. support your support.

So tonight, to a good number of my friends [the geniuses-in-disguise, the hard-workers, the sweet-natured &those deserving encouragement] i sent a text message that read:

You've been given this one world. Don't worry it away. Talk to God; it may help. It may not. But somethings gotta give. You can't keep waiting to live. Theres too many things you haven't done yet. Too many sunsets you haven't seen. DREAM. I support you.

As it goes, my phone isn't all that compatible with mass-texting, so a good many friends did not receive it. Thus, one of the reasons this is now a public service announcement. More specifically i wanted to address the ONE-and-ONLY recipient who thought to question whether it was a mass text or sent solely to them [because apparently that deciphered how seriously the message ought to have been taken] please note: its a mass text that when sent was with YOU in mind. i_support_you. Undoubtedly, you fall into the genius-in-disguise-hard-working-sweet-natured-more-than-deserving-of encouragement- FRIEND category. So i hope you re-read the message that was sent and apply every word. Not because I sent it, or because it matters to whom else it was sent. but because its true for_you. &i so desperately believe that "theres too many things you haven't done yet," so dont stop now, then, or ever.

All geniuses play an instrument; i play with words.

dream drunk.

my own rendition of all i really need...

All I Really Need to Know I Learned In-Toxicated.

What i Learned:

  • Watch dry humor television.
  • Say "i love you" without remorse or justification.
  • Kiss a good friend.
  • Kiss a stranger.
  • Do: dance [off beat], sing [out of key] and every other inhibition you would otherwise control.
  • Dont: over think a good time.
  • Eat bread.
  • Tell your friends the harsh truth. They'll forgive you.
  • Make sure a good friend is always in hair-holding distance.
  • Get rid of whatever is unsettling to your inner-self [throw up].
  • Be unaware of how you look.
  • Get aware; then don't care.
  • Show emotion.
  • Laugh when nothing is funny.
  • Don't be afraid to fall flat on your face.
  • Feel how it feels to not feel anything at all.
  • Remind yourself never to feel that way again.
  • Fall asleep with nothing on your mind.
  • Never listen when they say you cant fly.
  • Just jump.
  • React slowly.
  • Begin your day with a stranger and say, "whats your name again?"
  • Forget to remember it all.

As Fulghum states, take any of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm.

basic living.

This is my favorite guide to life; take heed.

All I Really Need To KnowI Learned In Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum- an excerpt from the book, All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten

All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten.ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School.

These are the things I learned:

Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life - learn some and think someand draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work some every day.

Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Be aware of wonder.Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.

And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggestword of all - LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.

Take any of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government oryour world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down withour blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had a basic policy to always put thing back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true, no matter how old youare - when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

light + focus.

what is a laser? a light so focused it can cut steel. Consider this: a knife, otherwise an object especially created to cut &slice things, can scarcely imagine even knicking steel. But a laser can cut through it?! Light + focus.

Often times I strive to be the knife. I envy those who are seemingly destined for his/her craft- those who wore the shoes before they could walk, so to speak. And I spend time imitating what they do so that, perhaps, I too can have the same experience. But sometimes I get so lost in the idea of fulfilling someone else's destiny I forget to consider that maybe I was meant do more than the knife. To be more than a knife. You have to be enlightened on what it is you can do. That "thing" about you that makes the world go 'round. and focus on that. just that!

shoutsout to Bishop Walker for the enlightment.

be right back (but only for a visit).

I dont like where im at. i keep telling myself that im not satisfied attending this mediocre-college &doing mediocre things. I've said it so much that now I've convinced myself I_Gotta_get _out! &nothing is wrong with that. At least i dont think so- Only! when I get frustrated i run home! I attend school 2 hours up the road so naturally I come back every weekend- at least! Instead of exploring other options, i just go home.

Lesson: If you can help it, never put yourself in a place of discomfort, especially if there wont ever be resolution. In other words dont fight a battle you never intended on winning. Thats just wasted energy. However, that doesnt make it ok to retreat to where you feel safest. Find a fight worth FIGHTING! Its too easy to settle in safety. I want more &I have every intention of going to get it. So im going now...

good morning.

Being that- other than my introduction-entry- this is the first installment &it is, in fact, early a.m. i figured this would be appropriate.

Its good to start any new thing with the same attitude you'd hope to end with. With that, begin with a sense of completion in mind. When your means are in order your methods follow suit. Its only natural.

introduction.

This makes Blog 3. For those wondering, FLS is still effective just currently not [too] active. This blog, ideally, is an exhalation of my cerebral mouth. Its not going to feature too many pictures/latest fads, fashions, faux pas etc. just good ol' fashion ME talking to YOU. Basic.
